Make Money With What You Have

March 27, 2019

Many people think that to make a significant return they need to invest heavily. However, this ain’t always the case. In fact, it may be possible to make money with things, assets, or the skills you already have. When you take the time to consider what is already around you, you might find that it is quite easy for you to make money with what you have.

Teach a class

One of the most effective ways of making money from a skill that you already have is to teach a class. Of course, the type of class you run will depend on what you can do. Most people will have a musical instrument, crafting hobby, or business skill that they are particularly successful at. This can be turned into an additional revenue stream. In fact, there are many different ways you can choose to do this including running skills class at you home, or an outside venue, creating videos for sites like Youtube, or even writing tutorial type blog posts.

Rent out your property

Next, if you are lucky enough to own a property, you may choose to rent this out to create an extra income. Of course, most people think about doing this in terms of long term residential lettings, but this is not your only choice. In fact, if you have property in a city centre location, you can choose to rent it on a short term basis to people traveling for business or to vacationers and tourists.

The best thing about doing this is that some flexible property management services can handle the promotion, housekeeping, and the guest support for you, meaning all you need to do is complete their accommodation registration to sign up. Something that makes leasing out your property to make a profit much easier and less time consuming to do.

Sell your old stuff

What with the success of shows like Konmari, everyone seems to be clearing out their clutter and only keeping the things in their homes that spark joy. In fact, this is excellent news if you are looking to make some money as well, because your trash may turn into a treasure for the person you are selling it too.

Luckily, there are quite a few different ways you can sell old items that you no longer want or need to make some extra cash. One is to offer them on classified sites like Craigslist, or in auction sites such as eBay. You can even choose a ‘buy it now’ option if you don’t want to have to wait for people to get interested and bid.

Alternatively, you may wish to organise a garage sale or attend a flea market. Just be sure to have an idea of what you want to charge for each item before the day. Otherwise, you may end up letting things go for less than they are worth, something that means you won’t make as much money as you could from this tactic!
